What Can I Do?
Help Us. Stop Elder Abuse & Assisted Suicide.
True Compassion Advocates provides vital leadership, education, and assistance in the fight against assisted suicide. We help individuals and organizations, protect vulnerable persons, and provide invaluable information, resources for effective coalition-building. Our timely assistance has been, and continues to be, essential to many states and locales, including Idaho and Montana, both of which have been targeted by well-funded radical suicide proponents and asked for our help.
Help us help them. Seniors, ill people, and those living with disabilities need excellent medical care and compassionate support, not a handful of lethal drugs and a push to commit assisted suicide. Help us continue to provide vital assistance to locales, individuals and families in the US and abroad. Please consider donate to True Compassion Advocates. Help Create Safe Harbor Communities
It is essential to create and maintain safe harbors in our communities-places where vulnerable ill people can go to receive health care they can trust with their lives-care which includes true compassion, rather than the false choices such as assisted suicide. Help your community become Safe Harbor from suicide, assisted suicide, and elder abuse.
Writing Letters/Saving Lives
Physicians and health care providers need your encouragement to maintain life-affirming policies-if they don't hear from you, pressures from an aggressive suicide lobby will weaken their resolve and enable life-threatening vs life-saving polices. Many of you have contacted us asking how to keep your local doctors' offices, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospices safe from assisted suicide. In response, we've crafted a few sample letters for you to personalize and send. Please, take a moment: write a letter/save a life. Read sample letters.
Plan or attend a Supportive Care Gathering
Supportive care gatherings advocate for improved care for seniors, people with disabilities, those experiencing chronic or serious illness. These peaceful and informative gatherings are held in front of hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospices, or in other community locations where life or health is at risk from suicide, assisted suicide, or elder abuse.
Contact your area Hospitals
Hospitals play a unique role in community health care and must be encouraged to be leaders in the provision of safe care to vulnerable ill people. As a patient or community member, you have a right to know if your hospital offers a safe harbor from assisted suicide and elder abuse or not.
